The Sheffield Digital Campus is a new development in Sheffield City Centre close to the railway station and bus station.

Contents

Partners include the developer Teesland/GMI, Sheffield City Council, Creative Sheffield, the city centre urban regeneration company and Yorkshire Forward, the regional development agency. Over £1.6 million of European Union funds are being invested in South Yorkshire's infrastructure and so it is hoped that businesses locating into the eCampus, may qualify for Regional Selective Assistance and Regional Enterprise Grants.

The development which will offer over 600,000 sq ft (56,000 m2) [1] of high quality office accommodation, as a custom built hub for digital, ICT, multi-media and software companies.

The layout of the campus will be flexible to cater for companies of all sizes and to adapt to the changing needs of its tenants. The campus will be designed as a series of contemporary buildings and landscaped open spaces.

Construction

Construction of the campus has been divided into three phases.

Phase 1 will consist of four separate buildings of which two are already completed. Two further building are under construction.

The Phase 2 building will be constructed on the site of the (now demolished) Nelson Mandela Building situated on the corner of Pond Street and Sheaf Street.

The Phase 3 building will be constructed on the site of the (now demolished) Sheaf House and Dyson House buildings, situated between Leadmill Road and Sheffield railway station.

Tha landscape architects for the scheme were Donaldson Edwards Partnership based in Manchester.

Following a period of decline, the estate is being renovated by developers Urban Splash. The renovation was one of the six short-listed projects for the 2013 RIBA Stirling Prize. The Estate falls within the Manor Castle ward of the City. Park Hill is also the name of the area in which the flats are sited. The name relates to the deer park attached to Sheffield Manor, the remnant of which is now known as Norfolk Park.

Gleadless Valley (ward) electoral ward of Sheffield City Council

Gleadless Valley ward—which includes the districts of Gleadless Valley, Heeley, Lowfield, and Meersbrook—is one of the 28 electoral wards in City of Sheffield, England. It is located in the southern part of the city and covers an area of 4.5 km2. The population of this ward in 2011 was 21,089 people in 9,516 households. It is one of the five wards that form the Sheffield Heeley parliamentary constituency whose Member of Parliament elected at the 2001 general election was Meg Munn. Gleadless Valley actually describes the valley that separates Hemsworth from Herdings, and is a broad area that covers several housing estates: Hemsworth, Herdings and Rollestone. Hull Paragon Interchange is a transport interchange providing rail, bus and coach services located in the city centre of Kingston upon Hull, England. The G.T. Andrews-designed station was originally named Paragon Station, and together with the adjoining Station Hotel, it opened in 1847 as the new Hull terminus for the growing traffic of the York and North Midland (Y&NMR) leased to the Hull and Selby Railway (H&S). As well as trains to the west, the station was the terminus of the Y&NMR and H&S railway's Hull to Scarborough Line. From the 1860s the station also became the terminus of the Hull and Holderness and Hull and Hornsea railways.

Sheffield Interchange

Sheffield Interchange is the main bus station in central Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. The facility is served by buses operating across the Sheffield region, as well as National Express coaches that connect Sheffield with many destinations across the United Kingdom. At the northern end of the Interchange is Castle Square tram stop, which serves all three Sheffield Supertram routes. A short distance away via a signposted covered walkway is Sheffield railway station, providing train services to locations across the country.

Dyson House

Dyson House was a building which was part of Sheffield Hallam University's city campus in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. The building was on Sheaf Square, next to the Sheffield Midland Station. Dyson House became unused by the university for several years, and was bought by Yorkshire Forward as part of the Heart of the city scheme funded by EU regeneration money and has now been demolished. The site along with the adjacent Sheaf House has a proposal for a new 200,000 sq ft (19,000 m2) office block, shops and 200 apartments in a mixed use scheme of a futuristic modern design by Make Architects designers of the acclaimed Swiss Re (Gerkin) building in London.

Sheffield City Centre is a district of the City of Sheffield, and is partly covered by the City ward of the City of Sheffield. It includes the area that is within a radius of roughly 0.75 miles (1.2 km) of Sheffield Cathedral, and is encircled by the Inner Ring Road—a circular route started in the late 1960s and completed in 2007. The Advanced Manufacturing Park (AMP) is a 100-acre (0.40 km2) manufacturing technology park in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, England. It is part of Sheffield City Region Enterprise Zone. Technologies on the AMP centre on materials and structures, covering metallic and composite materials, typically used in precision industries including aerospace, automotive, sport, environmental, nuclear, and energy, oil and gas, defence and construction. Technology developed on the AMP is used in leading edge projects, such as within Formula One and the next generation of military and commercial aircraft, including the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, as well as advanced 3D-printed facial prosthetics.

Sheffield Retail Quarter is a retail development under construction in Sheffield city centre, England between the Devonshire Quarter and The Moor Gateway. The project was previously given the marketing name Sevenstone, prior to Hammerson, the developer, being dropped from the project in July 2013 with Sheffield City Council seeking new developers.

Sheaf Valley quarter, is an area in the centre of Sheffield, England. It is one of Sheffield's 11 designated City Centre Quarters, situated around the station and River Sheaf. Its borders are Commercial Street and a bowstring bridge to the north, the railway line to the east, Granville Road to the south (excluding Granville Square, Suffolk Road, Sheaf Square and Howard Street to the south west and Arundel Gate to the west. It is named after the River Sheaf, which flows from the south of the city, underneath the current station and into the River Don and Castlegate. Neepsend human settlement in United Kingdom

Neepsend is a suburb of the city of Sheffield, it stands just 1 mile (1.6 km) north-west of the city centre. The main area of Neepsend covers the flood plain of the River Don from Lady's Bridge at the Wicker up to Hillfoot Bridge. The suburb falls within the Central Ward of the City. The adjacent district of Parkwood Springs is often regarded as part of the suburb.

Sheffield United Gas Light Company Offices

The former Sheffield United Gas Light Company Offices is a Grade II listed building situated on the northern side of Commercial Street in the centre of the City of Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. It was originally known as Panache House and this is carved above the western doorway of the building, today it is better known as Canada House. While the main outlook of the building is out onto Commercial Street there is also a short frontage onto Shude Hill at its eastern end and this designated as 19 Shude Hill.

Manor House Street railway station

Manor House Street station was the original terminus station of the Hull and Selby Railway, opened in 1840 adjacent to the Humber Dock in Kingston upon Hull, England. In 1848 the station was superseded by Hull Paragon station after which it was primarily used for goods traffic.
