Kannapolis is a city in Cabarrus and Rowan counties, in the U.S. state of North Carolina, northwest of Concord and northeast of Charlotte and is a suburb in the Charlotte metropolitan area. The city of Kannapolis was incorporated in 1984. The population was 53,114 at the 2020 census, which makes Kannapolis the 19th-most populous city in North Carolina. It is the home of the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers, the Low-A baseball affiliate of the Chicago White Sox, and it is the hometown of the Earnhardt racing family. It is also the headquarters for the Haas F1 racing team. The center of the city is home to the North Carolina Research Campus, a public-private venture that focuses on food, nutrition, and biotech research.

Founded in 1844, the city was named in honor of Brigadier General Francis Marion, the American Revolutionary War Hero whose talent in guerrilla warfare earned him the name "Swamp Fox". Marion's Main Street Historic District is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The population was 7,717 at the 2020 Census.
Salisbury is a city in the Piedmont region of North Carolina, United States; it has been the county seat of Rowan County since 1753 when its territory extended to the Mississippi River. Located 25 miles (40 km) northeast of Charlotte and within its metropolitan area, the town has attracted a growing population. The 2020 census shows 35,580 residents.
Rogersville is a town in, and the county seat of, Hawkins County, Tennessee, United States. It was settled in 1775 by the grandparents of Davy Crockett. It is named for its founder, Joseph Rogers. Tennessee's second oldest courthouse, the Hawkins County Courthouse, first newspaper The Knoxville Gazette, and first post office are all located in Rogersville. The Rogersville Historic District is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

It is also one of only 8 school districts in North Carolina to be accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Cherryville High School is a high school in the Gaston County Schools public school district located in Cherryville, NC. Its attendance area covers northwestern Gaston County, and it also serves the western part of the community of Tryon and the surrounding rural area. Shawn Hubers currently serves as principal. Heather Parrish serves as assistant principal. Scott Harrill serves as athletic director. The feeder middle school is Chavis.

The second largest employer in the county, the system's 35 schools serve 20,000 students as of 2013–2014. Salisbury split off from the original county-wide system in 1921, but merged back into the county system in 1989.
The Wilkes County Schools system is a PK–12 graded school district in North Carolina covering nearly all of Wilkes County. The third-largest employer in the county, the district manages 22 schools that serve 10,374 students as of 2010–11.
The Elkin City Schools system is a PK–12 graded school district located in the town of Elkin, North Carolina which lies on the border of Wilkes and Surry counties. The three schools in the district serve 1,217 students as of 2010–11.
Carteret County Public Schools is a PK–12 graded school district serving Carteret County, North Carolina. Its 18 schools serve approximately 8,000 students, as of the 2023-2024 school year.
Cleveland County Schools is a PK–12 graded school district serving Cleveland County, North Carolina. The system was formed from the merger of Kings Mountain City Schools, Shelby City Schools and the former Cleveland County Schools system in 2004. Its 29 schools serve 16,417 students as of the 2010–2011 school year.
Elizabeth City-Pasquotank Public Schools (ECPPS) is a PK–12 graded school district serving Pasquotank County, North Carolina, including Elizabeth City. Its 13 schools serve 6,212 students as of the 2010–11 school year. It was formed in 1969 from the merger of the Elizabeth City Schools and the Pasquotank County Schools systems.
Granville County Schools is a PK–12 graded school district serving Granville County, North Carolina. Its 15 schools serve approximately 6,627 students as of the 2022- 2023 school year. The system was formed in 1963 from the merger of the former Granville County Schools and Oxford City schools. Granville county public schools now offers year round schools, and also the new Granville academy which offers different way of leaning.
